About the Consulate
The creation of the Consulate General in Philipsburg reflects the significant Dominican community in Sint Maarten, which constitutes approximately 10.2% of the island's population. The consulate provides essential services such as visa processing, assistance to Dominican nationals, and the promotion of diplomatic and economic relations between the Dominican Republic and Sint Maarten.
The establishment of the consulate underscores the historic and continuing migratory and economic ties between the two regions. Many Dominicans have moved to Sint Maarten in search of better economic opportunities, contributing to the island's demographic diversity.
